dr Aldona Mzyk

Bio

Aldona Mzyk is Associate Professor in Quantum Bio-Imaging at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, a recipient of a prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, and an associate member of the Q-BIOMED (UK Quantum Biomedical Sensing Research Hub), the UK's flagship programme for developing quantum technologies for healthcare. Her research pioneers the use of nanodiamond quantum sensors to study cellular metabolism, advancing applications in diagnostics and precision medicine. She leads the QuantERA 2025 Quanti-PEP and EU-funded BIO-CAT consortium projects, translating quantum sensing technologies into high-throughput screening platforms for the discovery and development of novel cancer vaccines and next-generation catalytic biomaterials. Alongside her academic leadership, she is advancing the commercialisation of quantum-enabled immune screening and diagnostic technologies for future healthcare applications.
